Previous Engagements
The WMC SharePoint team started working on SharePoint in 2001, when Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) was first introduced. In those days, the product was viewed as an added value application and generally not as an essential business platform as it is often considered today. However, we were employed in developing and rolling out many collaboration based toolset's in support of global research and development teams as well as collaboration on marketing based initiatives.
The team quickly developed their focus on the technology and were soon engaged in their first Intranet based projects using WSS based technology. When SharePoint Portal Server 2003 was launched our team were soon deploying large enterprise portals based upon that platform for organisations with large user numbers and multiple working locations both in the UK and abroad.
WMC SharePoint continued to work on WSS, developing their own products (e.g. Project Central) and working with clients to support their use of the solution via the services outlined in our Services section.
We worked in both the Private sector (i.e. Primark and JD Wetherspoon) as well as the Public Sectors (Central Government - Home Office, Local Government, and the NHS).
In 2007, WMC SharePoint were asked to manage a major global rollout of MOSS for a high profile manufacturer. This was our largest project to date and involved the design, development and implementation of a global infrastructure to support approximately 100,000 users. The project also involved developing the user interface elements and planning for future deployment.
In recent times, WMC SharePoint have continued their work on MOSS and are now involved in a number of small projects and one major project for a global manufacturer. This project requires the design, build and implementation of a MOSS platform and then the migration to the platform from existing legacy systems.
WMC SharePoint have a solid background in SharePoint / MOSS implementation. To find out more about our specific projects please visit the collaboration and portal sections. To find our more general information about our previous projects please contact us.
